This lovely Grade II listed cottage was built for the local Lime Kiln workers and is one of a terrace of cottages, which cluster around a charming chapel, frequented by the former landowner and still in use to this day. Quietly situated in the older quarter of Alcombe, itself on the outskirts of the popular resort of Minehead, the cottage is cosy and full of charm with an attractive lounge with feature fireplace, fitted with a gas fired stove, perfect for those chilly autumn evenings. However in this case cosy does not mean small and the cottage provides spacious accommodation for either a family of four or for a couple seeking out a romantic retreat. At the rear of the cottage the light and airy kitchen diner opens onto a secluded sunny rear walled courtyard whilst at the front a pretty cottage garden with seating is overlooked from the lounge. Upstairs two comfortable bedrooms allow for a restful night and the master bedroom has pretty views of the Bristol Channel and the coast of Wales. Minehead itself is a bustling seaside resort with plenty of inns and restaurants to satisfy both hunger and thirst, but these excesses can be exercised away by taking a leisurely or strenuous walk along the wonderful beaches or over the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Lose yourself for a day in the nearby historic village of Dunster overlooked by its brooding castle or hitch a ride on the West Somerset Steam Railway. There’s so much to do with the benefit of a fantastic home from home to welcome you back in the evening.

“Absolutely loved our holiday!  What a beautiful little cottage.  Great for the children and the dog.  Brilliant having the beach and woods so close.  Enjoyed the Sunday service at the Spiritual Church too.  Will definitely come again”  August 2013

“A very enjoyable week with lots of walking from the cottage!  The Lion at Timberscombe is very good for a walk and lunch.  Walks around Dunster also excellent.  Good lunches too at Porlock Weir pub.  Really enjoyed the walk around Lynton and Lynmouth and Watersmeet.  Our first visit to Exmoor but not our last!” August 2013
